Tom Van der Borght est né en 1978, Belgique. Artiste transdisciplinaire et créateur de mode Le travail de Tom Van der Borght est reconnu internationalement pour son approche non-conformiste, qui remet en question et brise les règles et les conventions, brouillant les frontières entre la mode, la performance et l'art. Son travail se concentre sur les personnes plutôt que sur le genre, car le cœur de son travail est difficile à saisir sous une définition, une description ou un titre binaire. Le travail de Van der Borght est très conceptuel, toujours sans compromis et à la recherche de nouvelles formes. Son travail se caractérise par une approche artisanale et le développement d'innovations durables. En intégrant l'intelligence artificielle dans son travail, il met en lumière des sujets qui lui tiennent à cœur comme la non-normativité, l'identité et le pouvoir de l'art pour inspirer la transformation. Tom Van der Borght travaille en tant qu'artiste indépendant, aux frontières de la mode, du textile, du graphisme, de la vidéo, de la performance, de la scénographie et des arts visuels. En 2020, il remporte les prestigieux Grand Prix du Jury et Prix de Public au Festival International de Mode à Hyères, choisis par un jury présidé par Jonathan Anderson. Selon les mots généraux de Jonathan Anderson, Tom se situe à l'intersection de la mode et de l'art - une position unique d'une pratique et d'une recherche artistiques, composées de vêtements comme de sculptures portables et d'œuvres d'art comme de créations créatives. En plus de développer un travail autonome sous forme de collections, de recherche artistique, de performance et d'arts visuels, T.VDB travaille sur commande pour un large éventail de partenaires et de projets créatifs (Mercedes-Benz, Lille3000, Baccarat, Lille3000, Chanel, Le19M, Blanca Li, Miet Warlop...)
